Yay! The contest is here! Good job on organising it. :)

The clock is so adorable! I really want it! XD So now I need to devise a strategy to win.... Oooh which difficulty should I submit in...

No way.... I didn't expect you give bronze members to winners too.  :o ><'' Now that makes me want to join in. I've got to get that bronze.

Hmmm.... No japanese people going to enter the contest? Only English people?  :P

@Wanfang
Yeah, we decided to do this for English version only for now :) Would love to see how it goes!

@Arthur
Glad you like the design! I like how you can look at the clock and goes "Oh, it's Tarosuke time". Maybe it's the clock for Satan to decide whose turn to be his dessert  ::)

Wait, why do the English version contest instead of the Japanese version?

Not much really. When we first release Sugar Shooter, most of the support and info were on Take-san's blog. We just started Dudedle Japanese section not long ago and not many Japanese people visit it yet. Having to ask Take-san to post everything on his blog seems bothersome, and we want to start from something small and easy so we decided to go with English only for now.

The global contest is probably after the game is finished :)

Damn... Mike managed to get over three million points in sweet mode. :o

Looks like I've got my work cut out for me! But I wont give up! For now....

He actually submitted two more submissions. And it's fun seeing how his score keep getting higher, revealing that he's learning something more and more. Still, nothing is certain at the moment so don't give up! :)

1 week have passed.... still not a lot of entries coming in....  ??? Do you think they're not interested in the game or we lack advertisement?

Or waiting for the right timing to send score. To surprise that their score is bigger than theirs. So they will ran out of time to beat high score?

I think people are being scared off by other's high scores, despite the fact that there will be a lucky draw for those that don't get the highest scores. I think this point needs to be advertised more perhaps.

Black is the last one to be scored.

Sweet and Bitter got the high score.

Normal hasn't updated yet.

Thanks for letting me know! I was just practicing before dawn and I was feeling rather down about my epic fail... but if there's a draw among all contestant I'll keep trying!

I think we should update the journal of the contest so people can update normal and black mode. Many seems challenging sweet mode. ^^'' if they see the list people will try the other levels.

Top score people

Sweet mode : Shinji25 -  4,474,210     + 100,000 for clear stage

Normal mode : Satosan - 2,314,380     + 100,000 for clear stage

Bitter mode : WanFang - 13,192,540    + 100,000 for clear stage

Black mode : No entry

No entry for Black mode? are there no Non-Japan pros interested in this? I tried it once an almost have a heart attack! :o

OK, I'm definitely doing Normal! Um... where do I post again? :-[

That I can explain. I also got a problem in that sometimes. The boss got a quarter life left I've used a very huge sugar rush. It did show the prince using the commands  and depleted the life but the armor didn't break sometimes.

It is kinda weird that there are two Shinjis. They better not be the same..... or that's just unfair.

And damn! I'm so close to getting over five million on sweet mode. I just need to not get hit at all.... eheh. I gotta keep trying before the deadline.

How is everyone building a high score?  I can only get up to 1 million T_T Now I can never enter the contest

I can assure you it's two different Shinji. Just a weird coincidence ;D

Hmmm, I've never encountered this. It could be that the bullet that deal the final blow isn't the sugar burst. I'll check it again and see if there's any hole in the code.

Basically, you need to get Synchro Level as high as possible. I would love to see replay of those who get highscore as well to see what kind of technique they use. I think I should ask the winners about that. Should be fun!

No, what needed explanation was how someone who didn't even know they were armor breaking Saionji, got a score so so so crazy! :C

Top score people

Sweet mode : Akai-kun -  6,309,780     + 100,000 for clear stage

Normal mode : Phageling - 13,013,830     + 100,000 for clear stage

Bitter mode : WanFang - 16,962,930    + 100,000 for clear stage

Black mode : Shinji16 - 10,199,680     + 100,000 for clear stage

Wow Akai-kun and Phageling some how manage to do soul frisk very high. They might have been collecting hearts instead of shooting and armor break in the right time. Like the samurai's last attack since you don't need to  collect bullet for points you need to armor break right away.

Armor break score  =  time remaining X Soul Frisk Level = big score

Example. 30 seconds X 11,000 Soul Frisk (lvl 11 X 1000) = 330,000

@Wanfang
Yeah, I was really surprised! I think Arthur's trick and Shinji16's video helps a lot though :) Still, putting those techniques into practices is still difficult. I'm glad the score's getting higher and higher.
Mogmog suggested that all of Dudedle members should play and post our score as well. So you'll know that just because we make the game doesn't mean we're good at playing it!  :P

As for Armor Break, don't forget that Armor Break will turn all the on-screen bullets into small macaron. So that's  an additional of  500 x number of bullets x (Soul Whisk Level + 1). Waiting for the perfect moment to armor break is difficult and take many tries, I think :)

Heard some rumors some given up playing in beating the score at the 1st week. 1 thing we did most first that is all of us. We didn't read the manual.  ::)

I didn't read the manual on scoring also when I have started playing. ^^'' After you explain reading the manual I've found out how to score and that's how my score got bigger and I keep trying again. I've nearly made it to no miss life.

Ok I'll be ready on the next one. Members only.  ;D HEE HEE It would be much harder than Gunbird 1 token.

Ha ha. I admit I didn't read the manual until this week. It was really stupid of me not to.

Either way those are some nice high scores to end the competition with. I was a lot of fun! I'm really glad you did a competition because the process of trying to get a high score made me, and others I'm sure, realise how much more fun the game is when you try to get one. Learning the best way to tackle each part of the stage adds a lot to the experience. And the effort you put in to the scoring system in SS2 really shows. It just addictive trying to master the gameplay systems to get a high score.

Now I'm even more hyped for the final release of SS2! I can't wait to challenge myself with more wonderful stages! We should totally do another competition once the full game is out to see even more insane high scores. :P
