The one that you can play as anyone. Though, there's a game that a bit similar to what you say. It's gay game as well, but I don't remember the name. Basically you have these 6 characters. And you can choose which character you want to visit which character. This make it possible to make your own pair and see the event play out. Each pair can switch between top/bottom, and each top/bottom route has two subroute -- SM or heart warming.

So wait, you just switch back and forth between who you make do what?

How would the player role work anyway? Would it just be one of those instances where all of the acts are just like a penis and no body having sex with the character? Or an anonymous looking guy?

You can probably tell I don't know enough about dating sims. lol

If it were a school setting what would each of the boys be? Would they each just be in a different sport or typical scholastic or sports wear?

In the role work, you choose the dialogue of your actions and what you say. Depending on who's making the game, using a separated penis on a guy during sex is one way of cutting corners or showing the whole "body language" of the guy you're fucking. Sometimes, it can look like a ghost fucking the guy because you can see a transparent figure fucking him.

Stereotypically, all the boys would be in the same class, but that's where they would branch out into different things. Arthur would be a jock(duh) joining the football team. Sugarless would probably be on student council(possibly extremely rich). Tarosuke would probably be a gamer/slacker, so he'd be either at the arcade, at home, or in the video game club. Souffle would be a furry(obviously) and would probably hang out at some furry club or animal rights/green energy club. That's just what I think, hehe

I mean, I get the gist of a dating sim, but I was just more curious as to the specifics of a Sugar Shooter dating sim. I bet there could be more fitting roles for each character than some of those, but I'm having trouble thinking of what!

There is a big difference between visual novel and dating sim. Visual novel focus more on choosing choices, kinda like choose your own adventure kind of game, while dating sim focus more on improving your parameter or having to do some sort of management.

Not sure about what will be specifics for Sugar Shooter dating sim yet. Most of these games don't focus much on system but rather on scenario and characters

Also, no School Days endings! X(

Oh so the thing where you would just pair the boys together is what a visual novel is?

Would it really make sense for them all to be in the same grade? Maybe just not focusing on classroom scenes would help not having to force them all in the same age group.

What if it was like Satan's the new guy in school. And he's looking for after-school activities to join, more so using that as an excuse to get to know some of the hotties around the school! If not I think baseball is the best sport for Satan.

Sugarless-Swimming Team (blame the thong being perfect comparison to a speedo)
Obviously he couldn't walk around in a speedo all the time though. Maybe just giving him a gym jacket so he doesn't look constantly cold! How could Satan resist a boy who's almost naked all the time?

Arthur- Football Team (that's a given)
Just dressed as he is normally without the armor theme. Butts-heads with Satan because they're both such alpha-males.

Souffle-Wrestling Team (I don't know, I think it works, plus could leave to a lot of sexy)
Wrestling spandex? Ohoho-yeah There will be awkward boners and more than just sweat on that wrestling mat.

Tarosuke-Culinary Club (Haha, yeah I don't think Tarosuke would be good at sports)
What if Tarosuke had to cross-dress to get into the Culinary Club? Maybe because it's a girls only home economics type club, but he's so hungry for the food he dresses up in a schoolgirl uniform with a hairclip! Compared to his yukata it just feels so right, even though it's so wrong. xD Basically Satan instantly picks up on his sweet smell of testosterone (not as if he's really a convincing girl, but no one else seems to care to point it out) and it goes from there.
