The characters don't have to be heroes, they just have to be able to fight :3

What about Gorillas and Monkeys?

Just have to be a purpose why they battle and join the tournament. Heroes or villains.

Gorillas are good in strength. They might be carrying huge log or bat to strike out.

Monkeys are flexible and fast and tricky too. Real Fitting body.    He carries a staff like Son Goku?

Gorilla- Onyx, towering over his brothers, left his family to live his own life. Some found him intimidating, but others thought of his calm and silent ways as weakness, only to fall to massive hands. After taking on a group of bandits chasing a solitary monkey, he heard of the Coliseum Tournament from him and decided to go there and see how his strength would fare there... and get right of the shady youth along the way.

Monkey- following Onyx after he "saved him from bandits", but only because the onyx colossus just gave up telling him to leave. The long rope and sack he carries are probably more than 'performance tools'

Hmmmm.. If the Gorilla wins what can he get from the king after winning the tournament?

I dunno if he will put new characters in the update.     Punipen is planning to have a create your own character tool in the game. but no story mode.

I'll hope the creation bit makes it to the final product!

And one wish "Onyx" will grant himself is getting rid of the monkey in his shadow! He certainly won't give HIM a chance to get a wish! He's too... hard to trust.

Also, I realized the Press Turn System could be translated into Action Points

    You start with 6 Action Points (AP)
    Spend all AP and your turn is over

    List of basic actions and their costs :
    Swap gems and make a match of three=   1 AP
    Swap gems and make no match= 2 AP
    Swap gems and make a match of four or more= FREE (0 AP)
    Use a skill= Depends on the skill
   
There are other conditions that will give you 1 AP instead of costing you as well :
*  Break enemy's armor's part
*  Deal critical damage

Just thought it might be easier to program and to understand

OMG! His name isn't supposed to be Slut ahahaha. I'm sure it's based on Norse Mythology. So his name should be Surt/Surtr. I can't believe they made that mistake. Then again, judging from his clothes maybe it was intentional XD

Shining series got best Kemonos in battle in there.

Just like Gallon in english japanese call him Garon. Lucario and Rukario is japanese.

But he lacks needs  a head gear and bottom in battle. ^^;; also he must never ever take off his collar.

So what else can you put it on him?

He's been able to fight without his collar.  His collar just helps him transform into Build Tiger and back into a human, not maintain the form.

Besides, like Soul Calibur IV, you don't need the equipment to be visible in order to break it X3 You can just break his spirit, lol

Maybe you can add a mask and bottom like Tharsix?
